Testosterone converts to DHT. DHT shrinks sensitive follicles. TRT raises testosterone, so it raises DHT. If you have no family history and a full head of hair at 45, the risk is small. If your hairline is already moving, TRT can push it.
The Fix
Finasteride blocks the conversion to DHT and is commonly taken alongside TRT. Oral minoxidil adds thickness. Many men on TRT run both, and we offer them together.
What to Watch
Shedding in the first three months of TRT, especially at the temples and crown. Photos every month. Tell your provider early; starting finasteride sooner keeps more hair.
