What the Science Actually Supports
Liraglutide has one of the longest track records of any GLP-1, with over a decade of clinical use. The contraindications mirror other GLP-1s — personal or family history of medullary thyroid carcinoma or MEN2 rules it out — and daily dosing means side effects are usually gentler in onset but require more consistent adherence.
