What a Doctor Home Visit Covers

A licensed physician visits you for anything that needs a doctor rather than a nurse: a thorough evaluation, a diagnosis, prescriptions, a second opinion, post-hospital follow-up, or ongoing care for an elderly parent who cannot easily travel. If an IV, injection or lab draw is needed, it happens in the same visit.

Visits are scheduled, not emergency. For emergencies call 911.

How It Works

Request a visit online or by phone, and tell us what's going on. We'll confirm a window and send a licensed provider to your address.

Your provider brings the equipment for a real exam — not just a phone call — and can treat what they find on the spot when appropriate, or coordinate the next step if it needs more than a house call can cover.

When to Use This Instead of the ER

House calls are built for the visits that don't need a hospital, but do need a real medical evaluation. This is not for medical emergencies. If you or someone with you is experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can a house call actually treat?+

Common non-emergency issues: infections, colds and flu-like illness, minor injuries, medication management, and post-hospital or post-procedure follow-up. Your provider will tell you plainly if something needs a higher level of care.

How fast can someone come?+

Same-day visits are typically available. Tell us what's going on when you request the visit and we'll give you a realistic window.

Is this covered by insurance?+

We're a direct-pay practice — no insurance billing. Pricing is discussed when you book.

Who actually comes to the visit?+

A licensed provider appropriate to what you're describing — a registered nurse, or a physician for doctor visits, working under our medical director's protocols.

What if it turns out to be more serious than expected?+

Your provider will tell you directly and help you get to the right level of care — including calling 911 if it's actually an emergency.

Can you write prescriptions during a house call?+

When it's appropriate and within scope, yes. Your provider will explain the plan and any prescriptions as part of the visit.
