The Evidence
The studies showing biotin regrows hair were in people with a true deficiency or a rare genetic condition. In people with normal levels, which is nearly everyone eating a normal diet, there is no good evidence it thickens hair.
The Lab Problem
High-dose biotin interferes with common blood tests, including thyroid tests and the troponin test used to diagnose heart attacks. If you take it, stop a few days before any blood draw and tell the provider.
What Works Instead
For pattern hair loss: finasteride and minoxidil. For shedding: time, and fixing iron, vitamin D or thyroid if low. For nutrition: protein, and a labs check rather than guessing.
Our Approach
Labs at home first. If biotin or anything else is actually low, we say so. If it is pattern hair loss, we treat the cause. Finasteride, oral minoxidil, the topical spray and the women's program are each $149 a month. The full program (finasteride, minoxidil and ketoconazole shampoo) is $249. Shampoo alone is $19. Two months is 10% off and three months is 15% off.
Common Questions

Not at normal doses, but it can distort lab results.
What about collagen or hair gummies?+
Same answer: no good evidence unless you are deficient.
What vitamin deficiency causes hair loss?+
Iron and vitamin D are the common ones. Zinc occasionally.
