Growth hormone peptides: a mixed review
Sermorelin, tesamorelin, CJC-1295 and ipamorelin all nudge your body to release more of its own growth hormone. Huberman tried sermorelin briefly. He got more deep sleep, but less REM sleep, and a prostate blood marker (PSA) went up until he stopped. His conclusion: the gains were modest and he is not convinced they are worth the risks for him.
He does mention that very low-dose prescription growth hormone taken at night may help deep sleep and recovery, if a doctor prescribes it. That is a different thing from the secretagogue peptides above.
Pinealon: the REM sleep peptide
This is the one he was most surprised by. Pinealon gave him a large jump in REM sleep, and the effect carried over for a few nights after. How it works is still a guess, and the evidence is thin, so he treats it as an experiment, not a prescription.
Epitalon: for shifting your body clock
He tried epitalon once, paired with morning sunlight, to shift his sleep schedule, and it seemed to help. He is openly unsure whether it was the peptide or the light.
BPC-157 and TB-500: strong in animals, unproven in people
He has used BPC-157 briefly and says the animal data on tissue repair are strong, but there are no published human trials. Because it travels through the whole body, you cannot cleanly test "injecting it at the injury." He does not recommend ongoing use without an actual injury, and flags the same blood-vessel-growth concern other doctors raise.
GLP-1s: protect your muscle
Semaglutide and tirzepatide work, with nausea and possible muscle loss as the main downsides. His advice is the same as ours: lift weights while you are on them. Retatrutide, the newer three-receptor drug, is not approved yet and is already being sold on the grey market, which he sees as a warning sign.
Non-peptide sleep tools he rates higher
Magnesium with theanine at night. Alpha-GPC before a late workout instead of caffeine, so you still sleep. Warming the bedroom slightly in the last two hours of sleep to get more REM. Slow exhale-focused breathing during the day to improve heart-rate variability at night. None of these cost much, and he puts them ahead of any peptide.
His sourcing rule
Prescribed and compounded by a licensed pharmacy, never a "research only" website, because contamination and mislabeling are the real danger. That matches how we do it.
Common Questions
Do you offer pinealon or DSIP?+
Yes, both, as shipped programs prescribed by our provider. They are experimental and we say so.
Is sermorelin safe?+
It is prescribable and widely used, but Huberman's PSA story is a good reminder to get labs before and during. We check.
What should I try first for sleep?+
The free stuff: light, caffeine timing, magnesium, a cooler then warmer room. If that is not enough, a video visit with our provider.
