Who It Is For
Low ferritin or hemoglobin on labs, heavy periods, pregnancy (second and third trimester with OB clearance), after surgery, or when oral iron upsets the stomach.
The Visit
Labs drawn at home first if you do not have recent ones. The nurse runs the iron over about an hour with monitoring and stays 30 minutes after.

Usually next day once labs are reviewed; A nurse or provider arrives same day in summer with a day's notice preferred for the draw.
