Flares
A prescription steroid cream for a week or two, then stop. Non-steroid options (tacrolimus, pimecrolimus) for the face and for maintenance. Antihistamines for the itch at night. Bleach baths for people with frequent infections.
Triggers
Fragrance, wool, sweat, dry air, stress, hot showers, some foods in children. A diary helps; allergy testing at home can too.
