Acute
A cough, often with mucus, after a cold or flu. Usually viral, so antibiotics do not help. Treatment: fluids, rest, an inhaler for wheeze, a steroid for a bad case, honey and cough control.
Chronic
A productive cough most days for three months in two consecutive years, usually from smoking. Part of COPD. Needs a pulmonologist, inhalers, and quitting smoking.
When It Is Something Else
Fever above 101°F for more than three days, shortness of breath, chest pain, or coughing blood: that may be pneumonia and needs an exam and possibly an X-ray.
How It Works
Zen IV Spa doctor house calls are $599 with travel included anywhere in New York or New Jersey, 8 AM to 11 PM, seven days; a $50 video visit covers many problems. Labs are drawn at home by a nurse and reviewed on video.
