Kids Mini Myers IV at a Glance
Kids Mini Myers IV is a smaller-volume version of our adult Myers Cocktail IV, dosed for adolescent and teenage clients. The fluid volume is 500mL (half of an adult drip), and the vitamin and mineral doses are reduced for pediatric appropriateness.
This drip is designed for situations where a teen needs more support than oral fluids can provide. Most commonly, this includes mild to moderate dehydration from stomach bugs, sports-related dehydration, or recovery from illness when oral intake is hard. Sessions run 30 to 45 minutes.

What is the age requirement?+

Why not younger children?+
Younger children have different fluid balance, smaller veins, and different medical considerations. Mobile IV therapy is appropriate for older teens with adult-like physiology. Younger pediatric needs are better handled by pediatricians, pediatric urgent care, or pediatric ER if needed.
Does my child have to want it?+
Yes. Our nurses will not administer an IV to a child who is refusing or extremely distressed. If your child is unwilling, we will not start the drip and there is no charge if we have not begun setup.
Do I need to stay in the room?+
Yes. A parent or legal guardian must be present for the entire appointment. This is a hard requirement, not a recommendation.
Is this safe?+
When administered by a licensed registered nurse with proper protocols and medical oversight, IV therapy is safe for older teens who meet our requirements. Vital signs assessment, half-dose formula, parent supervision, and medical provider approval are all built-in safety steps.
When should I go to the ER instead?+
Severe vomiting (more than 24 hours), high fever (102+), severe abdominal pain, signs of severe dehydration (no urine for 8+ hours, confusion), or any suspected serious illness. Our medical provider can help you decide if you are unsure.
Can I add anything to my child's IV?+
Add-ons are not offered on Kids Mini Myers IV. The pediatric formula is fixed for safety. If additional support is needed, talk to our medical provider.
