The water: hours
The fluid in the bag is mostly water with salts. It goes straight into your bloodstream and spreads through your body within an hour or two. Your kidneys then do their normal job: they keep what you need and send the rest out as urine over the next several hours. If you were well hydrated to begin with, you will urinate most of it out by the end of the day. If you were behind, your body keeps more of it, and you feel the difference fast.
The vitamins: days to weeks
This is where it differs by ingredient. Vitamin C and the B vitamins are water-soluble: your body uses what it needs and clears the rest within a day or two. B12 is the exception; the liver stores it, and a good dose can last weeks to months. Magnesium moves into your cells and bones over the following days. Glutathione is used up as it mops up free radicals. None of them "build up" from one drip.
How long you feel better
Most people feel the fluid within the hour and the rest of the bag over the day. For a hangover or a stomach bug, that is the whole point: you feel human again today. For energy or immune support, people describe a few days of feeling steadier. A drip is a refill, not a reservoir. Tomorrow you still drink water, sleep and eat.
The numbers
A standard Zen IV Spa drip is 1 liter of fluid and takes about 45 minutes. Some drips use 2 liters and take longer. NAD+ runs 1 to 4 hours depending on the amount ordered (250, 500 or 1,000 mg).
What we check first
Before every drip a licensed nurse checks your blood pressure and pulse at your door, and before your first one a licensed provider reviews your health history on a short video call. Anyone with heart or kidney conditions needs that review, because extra fluid is not right for everyone. All of New York and New Jersey, 8 AM to 11 PM.
